My Mission Statement:
I am a writer. I inspire people who have received a wakeup call
to awaken so that they can experience a more fulfilling future.
Who Is This Blog For?
I would be foolish to announce that this blog is for everyone. It is not.
It is for people who have been scared into living by their own tragic experience or the experience of someone close to them.
It is for people who are looking for inspiration to disrupt the status quo of their lives.
It is for those individuals who will fight the resistance to quit and will persevere through adversity.
I Believe
I believe we suffer hardships, endure pain, and grieve so that we can grow stronger physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
I believe our tragedies can become our wake-up calls.
I believe in looking for optimism while living through the darkest hours of our lives.
Why am I qualified to host this blog?
At the age of 44, I suffered three heart attacks and two strokes. I know darkness!
I believe I received a wake-up call. And the ringing startled me into living.
There is no snooze button on our lives.
I believe it is time to wake up, stretch our tired and aching muscles, and get going with the rest of our fragile lives.
Where Does the Inspiration For Content Come From?
I use my life experience, and the experience of others, as a map to lead me away from darkness.
I use my passion for challenging the status quo to motivate me towards a more fulfilling future.
I use my God-given talents as a writer and speaker to inspire people to navigate their way out of darkness.
My Books
I have a full-length book, I’M IN , which chronicles my experience as a volunteer coordinator for an episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. It is available here as a paperback and Kindle from Amazon. The average reader rating is 5-stars. It’s worth taking a look at!
If you love dogs and/or are considering rescuing a dog, then I invite you to learn more about A Second Chance To Smile.
I am currently working on my next book, which I hope will be completed and available for Christmas 2015.
Who I Am
I am a writer. I am a blogger. I am a storyteller.
I have been blessed to be married to Cathy since 2002.
We are survivors! We are not victims.
We are the loving parents to a pack of dogs (Brandy, Scarlett, Disco, and Kaya) as well as a pride of cats (Wakefield, Munchkin, Missy, and Phoebe.)
I currently live in southeastern Connecticut, but I’ve been known to move around when I am called.
My creed: Be Kind. Be Thankful. Be Significant.
My Promise To You
I promise to be honest and sincere with my writing. No smoke and mirrors. No lies.
I promise to be true to myself and in doing so, I hope you will choose to follow me.
I promise to never give up writing. At times, I may struggle with self-inflicted resistance and a lack of writing confidence but I will never quit on you.
I promise to work at my craft. I promise to improve my skills.
I also promise to respect your privacy. I will never sell or share your information.
